We start with a completely blank WordPress install and show you how WordPress works from first principles. You'll learn how to use the block editor to add content to a page, how themes and plugins work, and how to edit your site safely without fear of breaking things.

Who's running this webinar?

We're Lorna, Steve and Rachel, and we run Awesome Tech Training. We've been building WordPress sites for ourselves and our clients over 20 years, so we've seen most of the ways they go right and wrong. We make our living from training and from building websites for small businesses, not from selling themes, plugins or hosting. That means we'll recommend whatever suits you.

We're not a big corporate training company that's never run a real business. We're small business owners with decades of experience between us who had to figure out WordPress ourselves while juggling everything else - marketing, sales, customer service, everything. We've been where you are and we have the battle scars to prove it!

At the end we'll point you to the right next step for where you are. If you're starting a new site, that's probably our webinar on planning your website. If you already have a site but you're struggling with it, it might be our session on how to make sense of the WordPress site you've inherited. Attendees get a special price on both webinars for a week afterwards. Some people decide they'd like some one-to-one training on their site, or that they'd rather we built the site for them, and we're happy to talk about that too.
