What we'll cover in the hour
SEO in practice: building pages that Google and AI will choose
What the best page for a search looks like in practice, from the words on it to how fast it loads
This is a one hour webinar for people who know that being found matters and want to know what to actually do about it. Google and AI tools are both trying to do the same thing: show the best possible page in response to someone’s search. But what does 'best' mean in practice?
We go through everything that goes into an effective page, one element at a time. We start with what the page has to answer, then how it’s structured, the words it uses, what it tells people that other pages don’t and who is behind it. Then we cover the technical side, which matters just as much: whether the page works on a phone, how fast it loads, whether the site is secure and whether it meets the rules on things like cookies and privacy. We look at examples of pages that do these things well, so you can see what good looks like.
By the end you’ll be able to look at any page on your site, or one you’re about to write, and know what it needs.
It's run by the three of us at Awesome Tech Training. More than 6,000 people have come on our webinars and we have more than 220 5* reviews. It’s live, all three of us are on it, and you can ask us anything.
Choose your dateWho is this webinar for?
This webinar is for you if you run a small business or look after the marketing for one and:
✅ You’ve got a website that’s been up for years and it doesn’t bring in enquiries from search
✅ You’ve written pages about what you do and you can’t tell why they don’t show up
✅ You’ve noticed that ChatGPT or Google’s AI answers recommend your competitors and not you
✅ You’ve heard that speed, mobile and security matter and you’re not sure how they fit with what’s written on the page
✅ Someone else writes or builds your pages and you’d like to be able to tell a good one from a poor one
✅ You’ve been quoted for SEO and you’d like to understand what you’d be paying for, or do some of it yourself
✅ You’ve been on our free webinar and your checkup showed things to fix
It’s not the right fit if you’ve never looked at how search works at all. If you're not familiar with the basics then our free webinar, how people find businesses now, is the place to start, and this one picks up where it leaves off.
What you'll leave with
A clear understanding of everything that makes a page effective, for Google and for AI tools, and why each part matters. You’ll know what a page has to answer, how to structure it so that it can be found and quoted, what makes it trustworthy and what the technical side has to deliver. You get a checklist covering every element, which you can run against any page on your site or hand to whoever writes or builds your pages, and the prompts we use in the session.
Choose your date✅ What Google and AI tools mean by the best page for a search, and why they’re looking for the same thing
✅ Starting from the search: what the person actually wants to know, and the follow up questions behind it
✅ Why the page has to be built around what people actually search for, which is often not the words you’d use yourself
✅ Structure: headings that are the questions people ask, answers that come first, and sections that make sense on their own
✅ The words an expert would use, and how to tell which ones your page is missing
✅ What your page says that others don’t, and how to get what you know from doing the work onto the page
✅ Trust: showing who is behind the page and why they know what they’re talking about
✅ Titles, descriptions, images and links, and what each one tells Google and AI about the page
✅ Mobile friendliness: why Google looks at the phone version of your page first, how to check yours and when to talk to your developer or designer
✅ Speed: the things that slow a page down, which of them you can control and which are a conversation with your developer
✅ Security and compliance: https, keeping the site up to date, cookie consent and privacy, and why they count towards “best”
✅ What sits behind the page: schema, and whether Google and AI tools can read it at all
✅ Using AI to help you write, and the ways it will let you down
Bring your questions
You can submit questions throughout the webinar and there’s time for live Q&A at the end. All three of us stay on the line at the end of the hour, so bring whatever you’re stuck on and we’ll do our best to help.
How the webinar works
The webinar is an hour of content with the Q&A on top of that. All three of us are on every webinar: one of us presents while the other two answer your questions in the chat as they come in, and we all stay on at the end. If there’s a page on your own site you’re unsure about, bring it. Everyone who books gets the recording, the slides, the checklist and the prompts to keep. The on demand version also includes bonus videos showing how to use the main free keyword research tools.
If you buy the on demand version you get the recording of the last time we ran it live, including the questions people asked as its own section. You can ask your own in the comments under the webinar and one of us will answer within two working days, and you’re invited to the next live run free of charge.
Choose your dateWhat happens after the webinar?
You’ll know what an effective page is made of. Applying that across your whole site, step by step, is one of our hands on SEO deep dive courses, and you'll get a special price on them after this webinar.
Everyone who buys a webinar can book a free half hour clinic with one of us, which is a good place to bring a page you’d like a second opinion on. And if you’d rather have the whole site looked at and a list of what to fix, we can help you with that too - our SEO and UX site audit service may be of interest.
